Priscilla’s Lasagna
A few days after they’re wedding day, Priscilla and Elvis took to the comforts of their three bedroom fully furnished trailer including a washer and a dryer, and other modern comforts of home.
Elvis enjoyed staying in the trailer it was a new experience, he had never lived in a trailer, and it was Elvis’ choice rather than the mansion or the ranch.
Priscilla was now able to have the opportunity to take care of her husband, to be his wife, with no maids, no cooks, and no servants, just Priscilla Presley. She would so willingly rise early to make her husband breakfast in bed, she would put together a great morning meal for her man, with a pot of coffee, a pound of bacon with three eggs.
So as when Elvis woke to his new bride, she would present him lovingly and so proudly his cooked breakfast, letting him know that she could take care of him. Cooking his meals, the washing, general house wives stuff.
One night Priscilla’s confidence was hitting its peak, she asked people to the trailer for a meal, she was preparing one of Elvis’ favorite’s , “Lasagna” was on the menu. Although Priscilla appeared to sound confident she had her doubts. She would call long-distance many times asking her mother for reassurance with measurements, amounts and timing was also important.
Priscilla had to stay positive with her experience, there was a bet with Joe Esposito, he bet Priscilla that her lasagna wouldn’t be as good as he is able to cook, and continued to make her aware of it, of course Joe being Italian and a “Gourmet chief.” Priscilla needed for her Lasagna dish to be perfect.
Well it was time to now prove herself, with everyone seated at the table Priscilla began with serving. As she started cutting the serves for her guests she noticed while cutting that the Lasagna seemed a little rough but over looked it thinking it was the knife she was using “maybe it’s a blunt knife.”
With that thought she just went on dishing up the serves. Priscilla then was seated at the table with a nervous smile, saying to her guests, “please start.” Everyone began their meal, and the first bite was almost like an echo in the room with everyone making a crunch on their first mouth full of Priscilla’s Lasagna.
Her guest’s were shocked with her meal, as Priscilla was when she realized she had forgotten to boil the pasta. Elvis could see the funny side with the situation and began to laugh to lighten the disappointment that Priscilla was feeling, but then when Elvis noticed Priscilla was almost in tears, he began eating the meal, the others also followed and ate the uncooked Lasagna.
Joe Esposito would remind Priscilla of it, and still laugh over it, saying, “ Cilla? How about some Lasagna?”
