Why It’s Important to Do What You Love and Love What You Do

When you wake up in morning, another day begins. Everyone goes through this same process. The alarm goes off, you get yourself out of the bed, and you get yourself out into the world. This is how everyone’s lives go by, and the only difference with every person is that, some people open their eyes with a smile, and some people open their eyes, dreading life. Those people, who wake up loving life, live blissfully. This does not necessarily mean having accumulated wealth because to some people, happiness is doing the things you love to do. Living for a passion and living for your passion. When you wake to life like this, then you really have every reason to smile.

Unfortunately, not everyone gets to do the things that they love and it is no surprise that a lot of these people cannot wait for weekends to come. They make countdowns to the weekend because they detest what they do. Work is a heavy chore that they do because they need to earn money. Would like to wake up with a smile or frown on your face? If you want to wake up everyday feeling blessed and feeling really lucky, you should do things that you love.

You will do this for the rest of your life

When you decide on a career path, you have to realize right from the beginning that whichever path you take leads somewhere and wherever it leads you to, you should be able to picture yourself doing this for the rest of your life. Do not do things now just because it sounds good at the moment. Try to envision yourself in the future, far ahead. Do you see yourself doing this for the rest of your life? A lot of people switch careers every few years because they realize in the middle of it all that they made a mistake. They hop onto other things and find out they are wrong again. Before you enter any venture, take yourself to the future and imagine if you can still do the same by then. If you can, then by all means, go ahead.

You are not a machine

A lot of people operate like machines. When their alarms go off in the morning, they rise up from their beds, get themselves ready and head on to work. They fulfill their tasks, in precision, and then they retire for the day to ready themselves for the next day. They work like machines, and they do this because they know that they have bills to pay and mouths to feed. For them, happiness has got nothing to do with it, and so as long it puts money in the bank then they do it. They work their bodies like it never gets tired because they know that money does not grow on trees.

This notion may be good because bills get settled, but is this really how you would like to live your life? Do you really want to live like a machine and pretend that you do not get tired? Are you going to wait for your engine to overheat? Remember that you are not a machine and you cannot live life not caring about what you do.

Passion will be your fuel

The best daily energizer would be your passion for work. If you do the things you love, you will do it because it makes your heart beat and because you want to. When you are doing the things that you love, working becomes tireless. Headaches, backaches and neck aches are nothing because you are too happy to feel the pain. Most importantly, when you do the thing that you love most, you will do more than just perform --- you will strive excel. You will deliver more than you are expected to give, because you are fueled by your great passion.

It happens to us all. One day we’re motivated and the next day we’re in the dumps having ourselves a pity party. Staying motivated is not easy. If it were, everybody would do it. But, it can be done. You believe it can be done and that’s why you’re reading this right now — good for you!

You may have felt good about a certain job or project when it began. You were filled with enthusiasm and motivation. Then you hit a few speed bumps and unexpected failures and your motivation waned. You may have fallen into depression and decided to give up. All of those positive thoughts turned into negative ones.

We’ve all experienced these emotions that can cause us to give up prematurely. All that upsurge of energy when we started a new project inevitably ends as dreams become reality and we lose our confidence.

You must turn these negative emotions around and the best way to do that is to understand them, analyze them and what caused them. We lose our motivation as we lose our focus, our confidence and our direction. If you can learn to control these three emotions you can control your life.

Focus on what you really want. Be specific and be positive. We generally think in terms of what we don’t have rather than focus on what we want. Don’t focus on your fears but what you can do to overcome them. Don’t focus on being poor but on a plan to create wealth.

To do this make a plan to get there one step at a time. You don’t become the president of a company until you’ve come up from the ranks. Focus on your plan to achieve your objectives and your goals. Be realistic on your goals. Goals that are unreachable can lead to depression. But even small goals that are achieved lead to increased motivation.

Boost your confidence by taking stock on what you already have and not what you lack. You’ll probably discover you’re more successful than you think. We waste our mind power being jealous of others instead of working on achieving our own aspirations. Don’t take your strengths for granted and count your failures one by one. Count your blessings one by one and whatever your mind thinks it can accomplish.

Without direction there is no motivation. You must create a day-to-day strategy. Make a to-do list and do it. Mark off each item once it’s accomplished and do not mark it off until it’s done.

You’ll eventually get tired of looking at it on your list and do it. By making a list or outline of what needs to be done, you’ll find ways to do it and you’ll believe that you truly deserve success. Don’t waste time by worrying about the future. Start today by doing something to change your future for the better. Today’s actions can create a better future.

Don’t be surprised or depressed about a loss of motivation. Look at it as an opportunity to step back and analyze what you’re doing wrong and what you’re doing right. Discover your faults and correct them. When you re-evaluate your plans and goals from a fresh perspective, you’ll feel a new surge of enthusiasm and motivation.
